Ballon d’Or: Winners till date

A panel of journalists, one from every country, will decide the winner, and will grade their nominees in three categories: performances during the calendar year, talent and fair play, and achievements throughout a career.

The favourite for this year’s Europe topflight individual prize remains Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, who won the Champions League before leading Croatia to its first World Cup final in Russia this summer, where they were defeated 4-2 by France.

Modric recently won the FIFA Men’s Best Player award and also the UEFA’s Best Player of the year award.

And on Tuesday evening, the Portuguese footballer was pictured with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and his eight-year-old son Cristiano Ronaldo Junior as they headed out of Zela Restaurant in style after a dinner outing.

Cristiano Ronaldo honoured after scoring 400 goals across Europe (Photo)

On Saturday night, Cristiano Ronaldo was honoured for scoring 400 goals across the Seria A, La Liga and Premier League.

Before Juventus‘ home game with CagliariAndrea Agnelli, the president of the Italian club presented the Portuguese striker with a celebratory Jersey to celebrate his new milestone. Ronaldo also already added two goals, taking his tally to 402 so far.

The Portugal superstar, 33, reached the tally as he scored against Genoa in the 1 – 1 football match last week.

Ronaldo scored 84 in the Premier League for Manchester United, 311 in La Liga for Real Madrid and he has seven in Serie A for Juventus so far.

Argentine legend Lionel Messi is currently second on the list with 389 goals for Barcelona in La Liga.

Spurs legend Jimmy Greaves is third on the list with 366 goals in his 529 appearances from 1957-71 and Bayern Munich icon Gerd Müller is fourth with 365 goals in 427 appearances from 1965-79.

Real Madrid ‘to sack Julen Lopetegui on tonight’ after humiliating 5-1 defeat by Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clasico

Spanish club, Real Madrid are reportedly set to sack Julen Lopetegui on Monday evening with former Chelsea coach Antonio Conte to take over.

According to Mail Online, Madrid directors will meet to decide his dismissal 24 hours after watching the side humiliating 5-1 defeat to Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clasico.

The defeat at the Nou Camp, has seen Real Madrid dropped to ninth position in the La Liga table.

If Real Madrid sacks Lopetegui tonight, it will be the second time this year he has been fired from his job. Back in June, he was sacked as Spain’s national team coach on the eve of the World Cup, after he agreed to take over at Real Madrid.

British Formula 1 athlete, Lewis Hamilton has won his fifth F1 world championship, making him the joint second most successful driver of all time.

The 33-year-old won the title at the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday night after he finished fourth. Lewis needed only to finish seventh even if his opponent Sebastian Vettel won the race to become champion – but the German could manage only second place behind the dominant Max Verstappen.

Anthony Martial ‘rejects new Manchester United contract ‘ with Frenchman likely to leave the club

Frech footballer, Anthony Martial has reportedly rejected a new contract at Manchester United.

This comes a week after Mirror Sport revealed that the Frenchman still wants to leave Old Trafford, feeling his progress has stalled under coach Jose Mourinho.

But Sky Sports is reporting that the 22-year-old who is out of contract at the end of the season has rejected the offer on the table but talk are set to continue with his agent with hope an agreement can be reached.

According to the report, Martial feels his career has stalled at Old Trafford having arrived from Monaco in 2015, and United could now trigger a 12-month option on his contract but that is likely only to ensure they receive a fee for his services.

Football star, Lionel Messi who has been sidelined for three weeks has been pictured for the first time since breaking his arm while playing for Barcelona.

The Argentine striker fractured a bone in his right arm during the Bracelona win over Sevilla on Saturday.

The 31-year-old footballer who will miss Champions League clash with Inter Milan on Wednesday and Sunday’s El Clasico with Real Madrid was pictured donning a sling to protect his injured arm as he stepped out on Monday with his wife Antonella Roccuzzo and one of his sons, Thiago.

‘I’m very happy, the truth is always coming in the first position ‘ – Cristiano Ronaldo speaks on rape allegations again

Cristiano Ronaldo faced the media on his Old Trafford return with Juventus on Monday and addressed his rape allegations again ahead of his team Champions League clash with Manchester United.

The Portuguese star is accused of raping model Kathryn Mayorga in a Vegas hotel in 2009. Mayorga, 34, says she was paid £288,000 to sign a non-disclosure agreement but still came out to tell her story.

While speaking at his press conference on Monday night, the 33-year-old  addressed the rape allegation saying: ‘I am a happy man.’

‘I’m not going to lie in this situation,’ he continued. ‘I’m very happy. My lawyers, they are confident and of course, I am, too. The most important thing is that I enjoy the football, I enjoy my life. The rest, I have people who take care of my life. Of course, the truth is always coming in the first position. So, I’m good.’
